Arkhanes, Knossos Museum & Vathypetro

Arkanes was a beautiful town and one of my favorite photos is from there, when a Cretan woman walked through the break in the gate of one of my photos. The discovery of ancient roads leading from Arkanes to indicate that it was an important regional hub during Minoan times.

There we visited the Knossos Museum and I’m sure everyone’s favorite part was the burial exhibit. We also visited on this day the archeological site of Vathypetro, a winery where an ancient wine press and olive press were found. The area continues to be covered with grapes and olive trees, and I saw some of the best green views at this site.
